      Ada Lovelace is my favourite scientist – she was the world’s first computer programmer, so without her, I wouldn’t be able to do most of the things I love! When I was little I liked Leonardo Da Vinci, because he came up with all sorts of crazy inventions – though I’m not sure he was really a “scientist”… My favourite invention is… Fireworks! 😀

      My current favourite scientist is William Lawrence Bragg among the “dead people”, because he figured out by himself the basis of the field I work in!
      When I was a child, I was fascinated by Galileo Galilei in a complicated way, because from one hand I thought he was brilliant, from the other I found controversial the fact that he gave up his science and his beliefs under the threat of facing the consequences of “heresy”.

      Oh, I am really really bad at picking favourites! And I am sure a few of my scientists friends will be offended if I pick a scientist alive, so I will pick Marie Curie. She was a an awesome scientist, and the only female to hold two Nobel prizes, one in physics and one in chemistry. She was a pioneer researching radioactivity (she invented that term by the way!), she discovered two elements (polonium and radium), and she stablished, during World War I, the first military field radiological centres.

      When I was a kid I was a big fan of Carl Sagan.

      My favourite inventions are the computer and the internet. If it wasn’t for them, how could I have access to so many cat pictures with funny captions?
