• Question: what happens when water is compresed on each and every side at the same time

      Liquid water will tunr into a solid. If you freeze water as you know it will form ice (what we call ice in form I). If you compress ice at room temperature it will form what we call ice VI (6) which looks like little diamonds. If I compress it further it forms ice VII (which will look like little cubes). It is thought if you compress further it will form what is called ice X( 10) and at some point this will behave like a metal. There are 16 different forms of ice and these depend on the temperature and pressure you are at.
