• Question: Due to Global Warming, the temperature in the UK by 2050 will have risen 1 degree. If this develops much more, could this destroy our world before anything else does? Do you do anything to prevent Global Warming?

The only chance we have to beat global warming is to stop burning fossil fuels and invest all the money which is wasted on oil into renewable energy sources. If we do this soon we can definitely save the planet and ourselves, but if we don’t, I’m worried humankind won’t last much longer… But the Earth will survive – it takes more than a temperature change to destroy such a huge rock, and maybe new life would evolve to take our place, which I think would be pretty cool.

Global Warming is indeed a huge problem and I think we should all act more seriously and concerned about it.

Unfortunately, I am not a politician and even though I can join marches and protests, email people and engage discussion, I don’t have the power to take the national and international decisions that are sorely needed to tackle climate change.

In my personal life, I don’t own a car and I bike everywhere I can with most weather conditions (even if it means being covered in plastic like I was this morning under the rain), otherwise I take the bus, and I rely on trains more than planes whenever possible. I also changed all the lightbulbs in my house with LED energy save ones, I avoid turning them on if I can just like I cover up more or snuggle in bed if I’m cold rather than turning on the heating for nothing.
I know it’s not enough but at least I try to reduce my impact.
